Now in New Horizon's 10th year spreading the love of music, I am blessed to have had the privilege of working with hundreds of students and the opportunity to pass the knowledge I have gained through my years of experience down to them.  Music has always been my biggest passion, and teaching students is one of my greatest joys. When I watch my students grow not only musically but in confidence and self-esteem, I feel such a humbleness to be a part of that transformation.

Originally from Wapakoneta, Ohio, I have been studying music for 33 years. Throughout my life I have received advanced training and awards for my vocal talents. In addition, I have years of experience playing piano and am proficient at playing various musical instruments.

Growing up, I was involved in all aspects of music activities and performances throughout my school years such as: band, choir, district choir, state choir, show choir, competitions, musicals, and barbershop quartet. My community services included cantoring for St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, singing at local businesses and nursing homes, and local Christmas caroling specifically to the elderly members of the community.

After high school graduation, I went off to college and studied Music Education and Vocal Performance at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. While attending college at Wright State University, I became involved in the elite Chamber Choir, Women's Choir, and studied opera. I started giving music lessons while finishing up my schooling in Dayton.

Currently in addition to managing and operating my music studio in Botkins, I still sing for weddings with 26 years of experience. I sing in various church choirs and am very often invited to perform special music for many various local churches. I was also the lead singer and keyboardist in a local band formerly known as WiFive.

As an accomplished musician, my mission is to teach and assist in the advancement of each student’s musical talents with my musical knowledge and years of experience. I aim to not only be a first-rate music instructor but a positive role-model for my students. I believe that motivating students to perform and share their talents with others builds core values such as confidence, people skills, and pride. I see in their faces a sense of accomplishment when they know they put in the work and did a great job! These experiences help students go far in life whether they are interviewing for jobs, having healthy social lives, or just feeling good about themselves. I strive for each student to succeed!
